On September 28, 2024, the NTT Institute of International Education (NIIE) at Nguyen Tat Thanh University successfully held an Orientation Day for new students in the Economic Law program. This important event provided incoming students with a clearer perspective on their field of study and the career opportunities ahead. With the participation of Dr. Nguyen Mai Tram and guest speaker Bui Truong Xuan Thao, the orientation session offered valuable and practical information to help the students prepare for their university journey.
Training Program for Economic Law: Learning to Succeed
At the start of the program, Dr. Nguyen Mai Tram, Head of the Economic Law Program at NIIE, introduced the curriculum and the goals of the program. With the motto “Global Learning – Global Success,” students will not only acquire academic knowledge but also develop essential skills to apply in real-world job settings, especially in today’s globalized context. With an English proficiency requirement equivalent to B2 (IELTS 5.5-6.0), in-depth knowledge of both Vietnamese and international law, flexible practical skills, and an open mindset, NIIE students are well-prepared to become high-quality professionals.
The program spans 3.5 years, during which students will study foundational courses such as General Law and Political Economy, along with specialized subjects like Commercial Law, Competition Law, Labor Law, and Banking and Finance Law. Dr. Nguyen Mai Tram also revealed that students will be trained in entrepreneurial thinking and will be equipped to work in various environments, from government agencies to businesses.
Guest Speaker Bui Truong Xuan Thao: Career Opportunities are Always Open
Ms. Bui Truong Xuan Thao, Director of TAV General Limited Liability Company, provided an honest and relatable insight into the current career landscape in the Economic Law sector. She shared that this is not only a highly sought-after field of study but also one with vast career potential after graduation.
According to Ms. Thao, the salary range for Economic Law graduates varies depending on experience, specialization, and expertise. However, earnings in the legal profession tend to range from good to highly attractive. Notably, she emphasized that Economic Law is currently in high demand for skilled professionals, especially those with strong language and IT skills. Mastering these competencies will allow students to easily broaden their career opportunities in high-potential fields like finance and import-export. For those aspiring to become lawyers, both Ms. Thao and Dr. Tram outlined a clear and specific study path that can help students save both time and costs.
