On November 9th, the NIIE Amazing Race 2024 was hosted by the NTT Institute of International Education (NIIE) with high energy and enthusiasm, marking a vibrant start for our new students under the theme “Together We Rise, Together We Succeed”
NIIE was honored to welcome esteemed university’s representatives: Dr. Nguyen Tuan Anh, Vice President of Nguyen Tat Thanh University and Director of NIIE; Dr. Nguyen Manh Hoang, Deputy Director of NIIE; MA. Nguyen Thi Dung Nghia, Head of English Department, NIIE; MBA. Vo Thi Tu Quyen, Head of Admissions, NIIE; MA. Ta Huu Hien, Lecturer, NIIE, and more than 400 new students from class K24 who joined the event.
In his opening speech, Dr. Nguyen Tuan Anh shared, “Amazing Race is an activity designed to warmly welcome new students, giving them a chance to have fun, make new friends, and charge up for the journey ahead. ‘Together We Rise” is a core value NIIE champions, as teamwork is an essential skill that will accompany students not only through their studies but also throughout their careers. “Together We Succeed” embodies NIIE’s 15-year legacy of success, with a 100% post-graduation employment rate and salaries 25% higher than market averages. We hope K24 will uphold this spirit!”
From the start, new students eagerly dove into team-building games like “Rising Above Challenges,” “Breaking Through Together,” “Pushing Forward,” and “Protect and Preserve.” Each activity allowed students to shake off any initial shyness, connect with new friends, and build teamwork skills. The harmony in each collaboration and the humorous moments created an atmosphere of energy and camaraderie. Through each challenge, students not only boosted their physical strength but also cultivated strategic thinking, analytical abilities, and problem-solving skills—vital assets for their academic and personal growth. The theme “Together We Rise, Together We Succeed” and the NIIE spirit nailed naturally through each challenge.
In addition to the physical games, Amazing Race 2024 featured an engaging intellectual challenge with the Golden Bell contest. This was an opportunity for faculty to share essential information about academics, NIIE-NTTU, and student life in a relaxed and friendly way. The “tricky” questions allowed new students to learn and share laughs, enhancing their university experience.
The event also lit up with exciting performances by MA. Huynh Huu Nghiem and NIIE students, a “small break” for new students to recharge after a day filled with both physical and intellectual activities. Notably, well-deserved prizes were awarded to the teams that completed the Amazing Race 2024 successfully, ending the day on a memorable note.
With such an energizing start, the upcoming university journey for K24 promises to be filled with memorable moments and wonderful experiences. May K24 always keep this spirit alive, giving their all in every step ahead!
NIIE Amazing Race is an annual event designed not only for fun but also to help new students “break the ice” and open up to new friends and future companions. This program also introduces students to NIIE’s dynamic, creative, and globally focused learning environment and helps them develop essential soft skills for their academic and career journeys.
