Logistics is not only a highly practical field of study but also plays a crucial role in the flow of global trade. To help students gain a deeper understanding of the opportunities, challenges, and emerging trends in this sector, the NTT International Institute of Education (NIIE) organised the workshop “Practical Experiences in Logistics Operations.” This event gave students valuable insights from an experienced expert, laying a solid foundation for their future career development.
The workshop was honoured to welcome Mr. Huynh Hoang Duy, a distinguished international expert with over 12 years of experience working for multinational corporations in Logistics, FMCG, Auditing, and Consulting. Mr. Hoang Duy holds a Master’s degree in Global Production Engineering and Management and prestigious international certifications, including Chartered Environmentalist (CEnv) in the UK and Full Membership (MIEMA) from the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment. He has successfully led numerous significant projects in sustainable and green logistics, such as green energy transformation, carbon emission reduction, post-consumer plastic recycling, and energy efficiency optimisation. Additionally, his extensive expertise in strategy development, training, and project management made his presentation especially inspiring for the students.

The workshop began with an introduction to Maersk Vietnam Ltd., one of the world’s leading logistics corporations. Mr. Duy shared Maersk’s development journey, emphasising the pivotal role of logistics in the global supply chain. Students gained not only a deeper understanding of the company’s organisational structure but also inspiration from its commitment to sustainable development.
He then delved into logistics operations and green logistics, highlighting this inevitable trend in the modern era. Practical solutions for optimising processes, reducing costs, and achieving sustainability were presented in an engaging manner. Students received a comprehensive view of how green logistics minimises environmental impact through advanced technologies and Maersk’s carbon reduction strategies, aiming for net-zero emissions by 2040.

Finally, students were guided on internship and career opportunities at Maersk. The speaker shared invaluable tips on standing out to recruiters, from crafting an impressive CV to mastering interview skills. Mr. Duy also recounted fascinating stories from his career, giving students a clearer picture of professional growth in the logistics industry.
The workshop “Practical Experiences in Logistics Operations” not only provided in-depth knowledge but also sparked enthusiasm and passion among students. Through real-world stories and valuable lessons from the speaker, NIIE students were motivated to continuously learn and explore their potential in the logistics sector.
