On June 11–12, 2025, the NTT Institute of International Education (NIIE), in collaboration with the Center for International Student Support – Nguyen Tat Thanh University, successfully organized a 2-day-1-night excursion exclusively for international students. More than just a sightseeing trip, this event offered students a valuable opportunity to recharge, connect with peers, and experience the beauty of Vietnamese culture in the most authentic way.
Tracing History – Visiting a Place Marked by Time
The journey’s first stop was Duc Thanh School in Phan Thiet City – a historic site deeply tied to the youth of President Ho Chi Minh (known at the time as Nguyen Tat Thanh). Here, international students had the chance to learn about the period when he lived and taught at the school, gaining insight into his passion for education, his close bond with students, and his exemplary moral integrity and simplicity. The historical documents, photographs, and artifacts at the site vividly brought to life the early days of a great leader – the beginning of a lifelong mission for the nation.
More than just a sightseeing activity, it was a meaningful “lesson” that helped international students better understand the historical and cultural context of Vietnam, deepening their appreciation for the country they are studying in.
Bonding and Sharing – Creating Unforgettable Memories Together
The atmosphere quickly turned vibrant with a series of bonding activities including team-building games, cultural performances, and beach activities. Students from various countries showcased their talents through singing, dancing, and cultural expressions unique to their homelands.
The trip also gave students a chance to admire Vietnam’s natural beauty – from sand dunes to the beaches of Phan Thiet – and indulge in delicious local cuisine. These are must-try experiences for anyone living and studying in Vietnam. Language was no longer a barrier, replaced by laughter, shared moments, and friendships formed along the way.

This year’s excursion carried a deeper meaning: broadening perspectives, building cultural bridges, and helping international students gain a more profound connection to their living and learning environment in Vietnam. It aligns with NIIE’s core values – emphasizing the holistic development of students through knowledge, skills, and cultural experiences.
Through meaningful and authentic activities, international students didn’t just learn about Vietnamese life – they lived it. This made it easier for them to integrate into the community and left them with lasting memories at their second home – NTTU.
