NIIE Information Technology Students Defend Their Graduation Projects: Applying Technology to Solve Real-World Challenges

In late May, Information Technology students at NIIE Institute (Interlingual Institute of Education) – Nguyen Tat Thanh University officially entered the Graduation Project Defense sessions for Semester 2 of the 2025–2026 academic year. This milestone not only marks the completion of the academic journey for the Class of 2021 but also provides students with an opportunity to showcase technology products developed to address real-world challenges faced by businesses and society.

This year’s defense sessions were organized through two specialized evaluation committees comprising the Head of the Information Technology Program and experienced lecturers in the field of Information Technology.

One of the highlights of this year’s graduation project season was the diversity of project approaches. Rather than focusing solely on theoretical topics, many student groups chose to develop highly practical solutions closely aligned with the needs of businesses and end users. Notable projects included “Smart Wifi Auto Connect,” “Building a Mini CRM for Small Businesses,” “Centralized Business Management with Odoo Nexus,” and “Thesis/Internship Topic Management and Registration Website.” These projects addressed familiar challenges in both daily life and business operations, requiring students not only to possess programming skills but also to understand management processes, user experience, and system optimization.

This year’s graduation projects were highly appreciated for their practicality and close alignment with the real needs of businesses and users.

In addition, many students pursued more creative directions focused on digital product development, particularly through game development using Unity. Projects such as “Building a 2D Top-Down Dungeon Game Template Using Unity” and “Developing a 2D Tower Defense Game Using Unity” demonstrated students’ growing adoption of a professional game development mindset, encompassing gameplay design, UI/UX, algorithm development, and system performance optimization. In particular, the project “Building a 2D Top-Down Dungeon Game Template Using Unity” left a strong impression on the evaluation committee during this year’s defense sessions.

The project “Building a 2D Top-Down Dungeon Game Template Using Unity” received significant praise during the defense for its game development approach and algorithm design.

Beyond evaluating the final products, committee members provided detailed feedback on report structure, algorithmic thinking, source code scalability, UI/UX optimization, and the practical applicability of each system. Through this process, students gained a deeper understanding that in today’s technology environment, a product must not only function correctly but also ensure stability, long-term scalability, and a high-quality user experience.

Không chỉ trình bày các đề tài, sinh viên NIIE còn nhận được rất nhiều góp ý giá trị từ hội đồng
In addition to presenting their projects, NIIE students received a wealth of valuable feedback from the evaluation committees.

Throughout the graduation project process, students also developed a wide range of essential skills, including teamwork, project management, presentation skills, logical thinking, and professional argumentation. These competencies are indispensable for Information Technology students as they prepare to enter the professional workforce.

Không chỉ là “bài kiểm tra cuối cùng” về kiến thức chuyên môn, Đồ án tốt nghiệp còn là cơ hội để sinh viên rèn luyện nhiều kỹ năng quan trọng trong công việc
More than just a “final examination” of professional knowledge, the Graduation Project provides students with an opportunity to develop many essential workplace skills.

Overall, this year’s Graduation Project Defense season not only reflected the growth and maturity of Information Technology students at NIIE but also highlighted the Institute’s educational philosophy of integrating academic learning with practical application. From course projects and specialized workshops to graduation projects, students are encouraged to engage with technology through an application-oriented approach, gradually building a strong foundation to adapt and thrive in the digital-era labor market.
