On December 3rd, 4th, and 5th, 2024, students from the Microeconomics course at the NTT Institute of International Education (NIIE) – Nguyen Tat Thanh University had the opportunity to participate in a field trip to Satori, one of the top-notch Japanese standard factories. The trip not only provided insights into the water purification production process but also helped students connect theory with practice, equipping them with essential knowledge about business management and factory operations.

The trip will take students to one of the most advanced factories in the purified water production industry – the Satori factory. Here, students will participate in hands-on activities related to the production process, including strict quality control and understanding the mineral recycling technology that helps the product reach high quality. Participants will observe the production process from the input stage to the final product, with highlights including UF (Ultra Filtration) technology and RO (Reverse Osmosis) technology, as well as a closed filling and bottling line.

Specifically, students will learn about an 8-step modern water processing procedure, and tour the factory’s special glass corridor to directly observe the entire production process. After the tour, students will have the opportunity to taste the Satori purified water product using mineral recycling technology, thus gaining a better understanding of the quality of products they and their families use daily.

This trip was not only an opportunity for students to understand a company’s production process but also to gain insights into business strategies in the manufacturing industry. The factory tour helped students gain a clearer understanding of how a business operates, from production, cost management to distribution processes. Through this experience, students could better understand resource optimisation and efficient production management.

The trip also allowed students to observe how the company adjusts its production and distribution processes to minimise costs while maintaining high quality, as well as how it balances supply and demand in the competitive market without wasting resources. This provided an opportunity for students to analyse company behaviour and understand the role of supply and demand in a competitive environment.
A highlight of the trip was the opportunity for students to apply the knowledge they had learned in the Microeconomics course to real-life scenarios. The field trip helped students develop their analytical abilities regarding business strategies and decision-making in real-world settings, making them more confident in handling similar situations in their future careers.

The Satori factory field trip is a significant educational experience, helping students not only consolidate their understanding of a business’s operations but also develop essential practical skills. It provided K24 students with a comprehensive view of the purified water production industry, connecting theory with practice and laying a solid foundation for their career paths in the future.
