Following a Freshman’s Journey to the Land of Golden Temples

The trip to Thailand was part of the “Support to University 2024” program organised by the Admissions Counseling Center at Nguyen Tat Thanh University. This meaningful gift aimed to inspire and motivate new students as they embark on their academic journey. The five-day trip offered Anh Thu unforgettable experiences at some of Thailand’s most famous landmarks. The journey began with a visit to Pratumnak Hill, where the group enjoyed a panoramic view of Pattaya from above. Next, they explored Coral Island, marvelling at its crystal-clear waters and vibrant coral reefs. Other highlights included Nong Nooch Tropical Garden and Khau Ji Chan Mountain, home to the world’s most giant laser-carved Buddha statue, standing at an impressive 118 meters tall. These destinations left a lasting impression of Thailand’s rich cultural and spiritual heritage.

The journey continued with a visit to Muang Boran (Ancient City), a vivid depiction of Thailand’s historical and architectural evolution. A modern highlight of the trip was Icon Siam, a lively and dynamic shopping centre. As night fell, Anh Thu enjoyed an unforgettable evening aboard a dinner cruise, gliding along the illuminated Chaopraya River. The experience wouldn’t have been complete without sampling Thailand’s renowned street food, one of the world’s most unique culinary traditions.

This journey broadened my perspective and motivated me to set new goals for the future. Thai people are truly hospitable, always greeting us with smiles that make us feel welcome. Moreover, the bonds I formed with my travel companions are unforgettable—we supported and cared for each other like a family, even though it was just a five-day trip.”
