Surpassing over 120 outstanding contestants from more than 35 universities in Ho Chi Minh City and neighbouring provinces, students from the NTT Institute of International Education (NIIE) have made a remarkable impression and secured their spot in the finals of Spell in a Nutshell 2025, scheduled to take place on April 26 at Ho Chi Minh City University of Education.
Spell in a Nutshell – An Academic Playground for Students
Spell in a Nutshell 2025 is a competition organised by DTP Education Solutions Vietnam Co., Ltd., in collaboration with over 35 universities in Ho Chi Minh City. Nguyen Tat Thanh University is honoured to be one of the co-organizers. This competition is not just an academic challenge but also a platform for students to enhance their linguistic thinking skills, sharpen reflexes, and expand connections with peers from other universities.
After the university-level qualification rounds, five outstanding NIIE students—Quach Gia Bao, Nguyen Quoc Cuong, Au Duong Thuy Nguyen, Nguyen Le Khanh Hoang, and Shao Di Tam—were officially selected to represent NIIE in the competition.
In the Non-English Major category, the contestants faced challenging rounds such as The Kickoff Challenge, The Elimination Round, The Ultimate Challenge, and Race to Glory. These rounds were meticulously designed to evaluate language proficiency based on international standards. The panel of judges, consisting of linguistic experts and experienced lecturers, ensured fairness and academic excellence throughout the competition.
The Road to the Finals
With exceptional determination and resilience, Shao Di Tam and Nguyen Le Khanh Hoang successfully outperformed tough competitors from top universities, officially securing their places in the Final Round.
While the other contestants also delivered impressive performances, they narrowly missed advancing further due to the intense competition in the semifinal round.
This remarkable achievement is not only a source of personal pride but also a testament to the high-quality training at NIIE – Nguyen Tat Thanh University, where students are encouraged to develop comprehensive knowledge, skills, and global adaptability. It also reflects NIIE’s commitment to practical, internationally standardized education, empowering students to showcase their abilities on major academic platforms confidently.
