On October 25, 2025, at the E-Tech Car Racing 2025 – “Innovation on the FET Track” competition, two students — Nguyen Nhut Tan and Phan Van Minh Man — from team EvoMotion, representing the NTT Institute of International Education (NIIE), proudly claimed First Prize in the Autonomous Car category – one of the most challenging and highly regarded categories for its creativity and technological application.
E-Tech Car Racing is an annual technology playground organized by the Faculty of Engineering and Technology, Nguyen Tat Thanh University, aiming to bridge the gap between theory and practice. The competition helps students apply their knowledge to real-world projects, thereby nurturing creativity and research capabilities.
This year marked the largest-ever edition of E-Tech Car Racing, with 50 teams and nearly 100 students competing across three categories: Autonomous Cars, Electric Cars, and Gasoline Cars. The event welcomed the participation of leading enterprises in technology and mechanics, including Mr. Vu Khac Trai – Deputy General Director, 751 One Member Limited Company; Mr. Do Thanh Vu – Head of Technical Training, Vietjet Air; Ms. Le Thi Thu Thuy – Head of Recruitment, Southern Investment Group; Mr. Nguyen Thach Lan – Founder & CEO, Motorcycles TV Co., Ltd.; and Mr. Dong Van Tuan – Event Team Leader, Phuoc Thanh Electrical Equipment JSC (Nanoco Group).
Representatives from the Faculty of Engineering and Technology also attended and served as judges: Dr. Le Van An – Dean, Dr. Duong Hoang Long – Vice Dean, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le The Vinh – Vice Dean.
The Journey to Conquer the Tech Track
E-Tech Car Racing 2025 was not just a miniature car contest – it was a stage for students to showcase their technical thinking, programming, and automation skills. Each team had to design, build, and program a car model capable of stable operation and handling various race challenges – from sharp turns and obstacles to recognition signs.
In the Autonomous Car category, EvoMotion impressed both judges and the audience with a car capable of track recognition, self-navigation, agile obstacle handling, and consistent speed control — outperforming many strong contenders to secure the top position.
“From Zero to Victory” – The Story of EvoMotion
Sharing about their journey, Nguyen Nhut Tan, an Automotive Engineering student and team leader, said: “It took our team nearly six months to research, test, and refine the system. At first, it was really tough because autonomous vehicles were a completely new field for us — requiring deep understanding of programming, sensors, and image processing. But the more we explored, the more passionate we became. Our constant curiosity and determination helped us create a complete and stable-performing model on the track.”
Beyond this achievement, EvoMotion aims to develop a more advanced version in 2026 by integrating AI-driven processing, allowing the car to self-learn and adapt better to real-world environments. “This victory is not just a reward for our efforts but also a motivation for us to keep learning and pursuing our passion for technology,” Tan added.

E-Tech Car Racing 2025 once again highlighted the creativity, resilience, and global mindset of NIIE students – young individuals who dare to challenge themselves, transform ideas into reality, and spread the positive energy of youth on their journey of knowledge and innovation.
