More than just a technical session, this workshop offered NTT Institute of International Education (NIIE) students a clearer and more practical perspective on the IT industry—where every role plays a vital part in building and operating software systems.
The guest speaker was Mr. Le Trung Hau, currently serving as Senior Data Engineer at ETON Joint Stock Company. With a solid foundation as a former Backend Developer at VOTA and hands-on experience from various large and small-scale projects, Mr. Hau delivered a workshop that was both in-depth and relatable—ideal for students navigating their career paths in technology.
Mr. Hau also updated students on current technology trends, including Microservices architecture, Serverless computing, Cloud-native development, and the growing impact of AI/ML and Low-code/No-code technologies. These emerging fields promise abundant career opportunities in the near future.
In parallel, he spoke candidly about the challenges professionals face in the industry—from tight deadlines and rapid technological changes to communication issues in remote teams. To overcome these, he shared practical advice: take the initiative to work on side projects, improve English proficiency, build soft skills, and seek mentors for long-term guidance.
“The workshop gave me a clearer and more realistic view of the IT industry. I now better understand the responsibilities of each role within the software development process, which helps me align my career path with my abilities and interests. In particular, learning about tech trends and industry challenges helped me feel more mentally prepared. I also realized the importance of soft skills like teamwork, communication, and problem-solving—things that books don’t always teach,” shared Pham Thi Hong Gam after the workshop.
This workshop went beyond simply sharing knowledge—it opened up a sincere and grounded conversation about future careers. With a proactive learning mindset and the readiness to face challenges, NIIE students are well-prepared to pursue success in IT—an industry full of potential, but one that demands continuous effort.
