In this era of technological explosion, the application of modern tools and processes in software development has become a core element, especially in software companies where speed, precision, and efficiency are always prioritized. However, mastering these tools is not an easy task, especially for students who have not yet encountered real-world situations. Understanding this, the workshop “Comprehensive Tools & Technologies: From Planning to Software Deployment” provides NIIE students with the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the best tools, learn the standard business processes, and apply them directly to their studies.
The workshop featured Mr. Huynh Nguyen Khac Huy, Deputy Director of Hinova, a technology company involved in various fields such as multi-platform software development, providing high-quality software personnel to large businesses and corporations (e.g., Sacombank, Viettel, VIB…), and consulting on designing software structures and solutions. With years of experience, the speaker is not only skilled in his expertise and management but also inspires students with his passion. A fun fact: the Deputy Director of Hinova once participated in the Freshman Orientation Program for NIIE’s K24 class.
At the beginning of the workshop, Mr. Huy introduced the modern software development process, particularly the Agile methodology – a secret to ensuring projects stay aligned with requirements and optimize efficiency. With clear explanations and real-life examples, he helped students understand how to organize Sprint Planning meetings, distribute tasks, and professionally manage project progress. Following this, the presentation on software development tools such as Gitmind, Gantt Chart, and Visual Studio made the class atmosphere even more lively. These tools not only support planning and application development but also help students understand the operational process of a real project.
A highlight of the session was the presentation on the .NET Core and Angular frameworks – two “must-have” tools for building modern web applications and APIs. Through dynamic examples, Mr. Huy helped students realize the significant role these technologies play in today’s software projects. Additionally, the Selenium automated testing tool was introduced as a powerful solution to ensure product quality. From basic steps to advanced applications, the presentation not only provided knowledge but also sparked ideas on how students could apply these technologies in the future.
The atmosphere became even more vibrant with the mini-game “Technology Quiz” – where students were divided into groups to solve interesting software-related questions. The mini-game not only reinforced knowledge but also helped students practice their thinking and teamwork skills.
At the end of the workshop, many students shared that they felt more interested in the field of Information Technology. The workshop was not only a place for learning but also an opportunity to connect with industry experts, adding valuable experiences to their careers.
