On July 10, 2025, students from the Hospitality Management program at the NTT Institute of International Education (NIIE) had the opportunity to visit and connect with one of Ho Chi Minh City’s most refined and artistic hotels — Mai House Saigon Hotel. This visit was part of the practical learning component of the “Hotel and Restaurant Operations Management” course, directly guided by Dr. Nguyen Duong Giang, aiming to deepen students’ understanding of the hospitality industry through hands-on experience.
A Hotel Space that Feels Like a Living Art Museum
Mai House Saigon is more than just a hotel — it is a living work of art. Every detail of its space, from the architecture to interior design, tells a story of Vietnamese culture, history, and people. This unique aspect made the field trip not only professionally enriching but also a powerful exploration of aesthetic values and brand identity.

From Industry Insights to Hands-On Practice
During the visit, students were welcomed by hotel representatives and learned about:
- The vision, mission, and brand-building journey of Mai House,
- How the hotel positions itself in the high-end hospitality market of Ho Chi Minh City,
- Its full-service ecosystem — from guest rooms and restaurants to lounges and event spaces,
- International-standard hotel operations using advanced software and professional workflows.

Students also toured various functional areas, including the front desk, in-house restaurant, Mai’s Sky Executive Lounge, and a range of room types such as the Dynasty Suite and Deluxe Suite — each uniquely crafted with its own artistic concept. Additionally, students observed and practiced essential housekeeping operations — a critical skill in the hospitality field.

A Memorable and Inspiring Encounter Between NIIE Students and Mai House

Speaking after the visit, a hotel representative shared their impressions of the students’ eagerness to learn:
“This visit was not just an opportunity to share about the realities of working in the hospitality and tourism industry. It was also a chance for us to be inspired by these bright, passionate young people who are eager to embrace the future. We wish them all the best — may they always nurture their passion, keep learning, and achieve great success.”
Business Connection – Learning Through Real-World Experience

The visit to Mai House Saigon Hotel is part of the broader business-connection initiative within the “Hotel and Restaurant Operations Management” course. These experiences help students understand real-world operations in a professional hospitality environment, apply their knowledge to practical situations, build technical skills, and gain clearer direction for their chosen career path. It’s also a valuable chance to expand their professional network and prepare thoroughly for future internships or job opportunities.
