NIIE Students Receive ‘iAN Scholarship – Nurturing Future Wings’

On the evening of December 3, 2023, at the Hoa Binh Theater, Nguyen Tat Thanh University had the honor of awarding the ‘iAN Scholarship – Nurturing Future Wings’ to 10 outstanding students, two were from the NTT Institute of International Education (NIIE) for the academic year 2023-2024.

For several years, the International Alumni Network (iAN) has been voluntarily fostering connections and actively contributing to community-oriented innovative activities, aiming for the advancement and development of the homeland.

Continuing these noble values, one of iAN’s key initiatives, the ‘iAN Scholarship,’ evaluates and selects students with a strong sense of dedication to studies, bearing commendable values and a desire to contribute to society, meeting the criteria for receiving the iAN Scholarship. The ceremony to award the iAN Scholarship was held at the final of the HIP FEST 2023 World Final Hip-hop Day on December 3, 2023.

The event was attended by representatives of the Nguyen Tat Thanh University Leadership, including Dr. Tran Ai Cam, the University President; Dr. Nguyen Thanh Phuong, Head of the Enterprise Relations and Student Employment Office – Vice President of the NTTU Enterprise Club; Mr. Hua Phu Doan, President of the NTTU Enterprise Club; Mr. Hoang Quoc Tai, Vice President of the NTTU Enterprise Club – Vice President of iAN.

Notably, the event had the presence of various significant leaders and representatives: leaders from the Ho Chi Minh City Departments and Organizations, the Union of Vietnamese Friendship Organizations, Ho Chi Minh City International Alumni Association (Vietnam Youth Federation of Ho Chi Minh City), International Alumni Network (iAN), Southern Vietnam Olympic Committee, representatives from media channels, and press.

During the ceremony, iAN’s leadership presented precious scholarships to students facing difficult circumstances, triumphing over adversities to achieve outstanding academic achievements from various universities. Among the 10 students from Nguyen Tat Thanh University who received the scholarships, two were from the NTT Institute of International Education (NIIE):

  • Nguyen Thi Xuan Truc – Class 22BITV04 – IT Major, NIIE – Receives a motorbike and a scholarship of 10 million VND.
  • Vo Thi Mai Hoa – Class 20BITV01 – IT Major, NIIE – Receives a scholarship of 10 million VND.

Despite facing many life challenges, economic hardship, and inherent disabilities, both students showed remarkable resilience and diligence in their studies, striving to pursue their dreams of knowledge. The iAN sponsors awarded Nguyen Thi Xuan Truc a motorbike, a means to commute to school daily, along with 10 million VND, a necessary fund to help her cover living expenses and support her family to a certain extent. Vo Thi Mai Hoa received a 10 million VND scholarship for her financial struggles, coming from a poor or near-poor household, surmounting difficulties, and excelling academically.

Dr. Nguyen Viet Hung – Deputy Chairman of the People’s Committee of Thu Duc City and President of the International Alumni Network (iAN), expressed: ‘With the mission to connect generations, nurturing future wings, the aspirations of iAN members individually and the community as a whole, we aim to nurture young generations’ access to comprehensive education, fostering well-rounded, skilled individuals, contributing to the ever-prospering, beautiful Vietnam.’
