On the afternoon of July 17, students from the Information Technology program at the NTT Institute of International Education (NIIE) had the opportunity to meet and learn from Mr. Dang Thanh Tung — a seasoned figure in the tech industry with over 10 years of experience in E-Commerce, Fintech, Education, and ERP.
Mr. Tung is currently a Technical Lead at Global TPZ (Thailand), a Team Lead at Scaleflex, and a Lead Trainer at Soldemy. He is also the Co-Founder of Bao Kim HQ.
More than just a technical session, the workshop “Programmers and AI: Who’s at the Core?” opened a refreshing perspective on the future of IT in the age of artificial intelligence. With a dynamic, approachable, and easy-to-understand speaking style, Mr. Tung guided students from a broad overview of Vietnam’s tech landscape to the explosive growth of AI tools today. He shared how programmers can leverage AI to enhance their learning journey—starting with selecting the right tools and using AI properly to support programming skill development.

One of the most engaging parts of the workshop was the hands-on session on Prompt Engineering—the art of asking the right questions to activate AI effectively. Moving beyond basic Q&A, students learned how to provide clear context, use specific examples, and break down questions to increase response accuracy. This segment opened many students’ eyes to the realization that AI isn’t just for “answering questions,” but can become a smart learning companion—if used the right way.
“Before, I only used AI to quickly look things up while doing assignments. But now I know how to use AI to truly learn. Through Mr. Tung’s sharing, I understood the difference between asking AI for an ‘answer’ and guiding it toward a ‘solution.’ I also learned how to think more logically and present my questions more clearly,” shared students Le Minh Thang and Phan Ngo Thanh Tuan after the event.
This workshop didn’t just spark a sense of proactive learning—it also reignited motivation among NIIE’s IT students in their journey to master technology. In an era where AI is increasingly embedded in every line of code and every job role, the real question isn’t “Will AI replace programmers?”—but rather, “How will programmers choose to collaborate with AI?” And perhaps, through this workshop, many students have already found part of their answer.
