The Lab-Movie project is a multinational initiative encompassing Europe, Spain, Portugal, Italy, and Vietnam, with the goal of technology transfer and providing labor market information in accordance with European standards. In Vietnam, a total of six universities are participating in the project, with NTTU being the sole institution in the southern region specializing in ICT (Information and Communication Technology) research.
Introducing the Lab-Movie project and its research objectives, Dr. Nguyen Tuan Anh, Vice President of NTTU and Director of NIIE, highlighted the current challenge where labor market reports, statistics, and forecasts often provide a macroscopic view, making it difficult for students. Therefore, the university has focused on research, surveys, and the development of a new platform with user-friendly, scientifically grounded content. This approach places students and businesses at the core and provides a forward-looking perspective for the years to come. The aim is to empower students with information for career guidance. Furthermore, the research findings from Lab-Movie serve as the foundation for the university to enhance its training programs, ensuring the provision of high-quality human resources that meet the needs of businesses. After three years of research, surveys, and report analysis, NIIE-NTTU has successfully established the website labmovie.ntt.edu.vn, a technological platform that offers in-depth information about industries, job positions, job descriptions, salaries, and career advancement in the ICT field.
During the workshop, Dr.Nguyen Tuan Anh did not hesitate to share the results of business surveys in the ICT sector, covering aspects such as business scale, performance, customer portfolios, development areas, and recruitment requirements. The research team also collected and analyzed in-depth insights on candidate gender ratios, language proficiency levels, contract types, recruitment positions, and challenges in the process of talent acquisition.
According to MSc. Tran Binh Hau, Head of the Information Management Department at NTTU, the target users of the labmovie.ntt.edu.vn platform are students. Therefore, the website has been designed to be simple and user-friendly for data access. The website will encompass publications on labor market reports, in-depth information about the ICT field, job positions, job descriptions, salary levels, and career progression. The ultimate goal is to connect with the university’s job search website, serving as a complementary tool and a reference source for students seeking information on the ICT sector now and in various other sectors in the future. Additionally, the website will feature survey forms for businesses to provide evaluations and opinions, enabling the university to tailor and enhance its training programs to align with real-world needs.
During the Q&A session, representatives from the business community expressed their satisfaction and appreciation for the achievements of NIIE-NTTU. The Lab-Movie platform serves as a bridge for better understanding between businesses and students. Students gain a comprehensive overview of the labor market in the ICT sector, recruitment trends, and business requirements, empowering them to self-improve and develop skills that enhance their employability after graduation. In turn, businesses gain insight into the personality traits of their workforce across generations, enabling them to develop training programs and cultivate a culture and career progression roadmap that aligns with their needs.
Finally, the workshop concluded with a ceremony to hand over the results of scientific research and the Lab-Movie platform to the Corporate Relations and Student Employment Department. This platform will undoubtedly be a valuable tool for NIIE-NTTU students to explore information about various industries and build their career paths. It is certain that the project will not be limited to ICT but will expand into other fields in the near future. Stay tuned and support labmovie.ntt.edu.vn!
