At this time, Prof. Dr. Lee spent most of time sharing many things with the students. Through some interview questions, he quickly got to know the students’ English proficiency, skills and was very pleased about what they have learned at NIIE. Then, he informed them of some benefits about the ASU 2+2 transfer program with cost-efficiency. Instead of a full 4 years in the U.S.A, the students will study 2 years at NIIE (Vietnam) and 2 years at Angelo State University (The United States) to receive a Bachelor degree from ASU. It is so easy to see that the cost is reduced by half but still ensure a prestigious degree with global value. The 2 years studying at NIIE is also important. It is the time for the students to practice their English, sharpen knowledge, and ability to adapt to a multicultural environment and NIIE is the trusted place for you to build a foundation, Prof. shared.

More detail about the tuition fee, he also frankly shared that Angelo State University divided into two clear tuition rates: For natives of the State of Texas and for students from other cities and countries. For the students out of Texas, the tuition is 2.5 higher, equivalent to $23,000/year. However, based on the cooperation between Nguyen Tat Thanh university and Angelo State university, NIIE students will receive the preferential tuition fees, equivalent to native students and around $9,000/year. Besides that, there’re more scholarships during your study at ASU. Prof. Dr. Lee emphasizes that this is one of the privileges that not many universities in Vietnam have other than NTTU.

About the learning path, he said that NIIE and ASU working together for a long time to build the program meets the requirements of both universities so when NIIE’s students transfer to ASU, they will not be so overwhelmed and completely follow the knowledge program process.

Question about job opportunities after graduation, Professor said, with the world’s leading academic program along with foreign language proficiency and flexible adaptability in a multicultural environment so Angelo State University students, so it is not hard to look for a good job with high income after graduation. Especially, for the students studying STEM or Master at ASU, there’s an opportunity to be granted a long-term visa, even to be able to settle in the US.

After the warming meeting, Prof. Lee was extremely excited to say that he loves Asian students, especially Vietnamese, they are usually very friendly and hard-working, so he is always enthusiastic to help during the study process.

An interesting share is that up to 60% of Vietnamese students both study and work on the campus of Angelo State University and especially these students are very good at foreign languages. Therefore, he advised NIIE students to always be positive, actively practice and improve their English. The better you are at English, the wider your opportunities will be, this is the experience he has gathered after many years of his work.
