On September 23 and 24, the NTT Institute of International Education (NIIE) successfully hosted the orientation days for new students majoring in Logistics & Supply Chain Management and Business Administration. This wasn’t just a welcoming event to open the new academic year—it marked an important first step in helping freshmen shape their study paths and career goals for the future.

Meeting Program Heads and Inspiring Speakers
The event welcomed a lineup of program heads and distinguished guests. For Logistics & Supply Chain Management, Dr. Ngo To Giao, Program Head, personally guided and shared valuable insights with students.
In Business Administration, students were joined by leading faculty members, including Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Xuan Nhi (International Business) and Dr. Nguyen Thanh Phuong (Corporate and Technology Management). They were also inspired by guest speaker Ms. Linh Dan, who holds an MBA from the National University of Singapore (NUS). Her talk offered real-world perspectives on the labor market, career trends, and the essential skills needed for the 2025–2030 period.
The Three Big Questions: What to Do – What to Learn – How to Learn?
At the beginning of the program, the program heads explored three core questions—ones that every freshman wonders about: What to do – What to learn – How to learn?

When it comes to “What to do?”, students were introduced to a clear picture of their chosen field, the real-world job roles, growth potential, and future career trajectories.
For “What to learn?”, the lecturers provided an overview of NIIE’s educational philosophy, training goals, learning outcomes, and curriculum structure—helping students visualize their academic journey ahead.
And under “How to learn?”, the highlight was NIIE’s unique bilingual learning approach, integrating both English and Vietnamese through textbooks, lectures, and increasing English usage across semesters. Students were also guided on effective learning methods—such as discussions, presentations, real-world projects with experts, and diverse assessment formats from attendance and essays to written exams and oral defenses.

Most importantly, the speakers shared heartfelt advice on how students can adapt, strengthen their skills, and make the most of their university experience from the very first days.
Logistics & Supply Chain Management: Hearing from Businesses about the “Lifeblood” of the Economy
Students majoring in Logistics had the opportunity to listen to guest speakers from the industry who discussed the growing importance of logistics in the modern economy. They analyzed the market’s impressive growth potential—especially as e-commerce booms and global supply chain diversification opens new opportunities for Vietnam.

Going beyond theory, the speakers emphasized the shift from traditional logistics to modern logistics, where technology and AI play key roles in optimizing costs, increasing transparency, and accelerating delivery speed.

They also highlighted the enormous demand for skilled professionals in the coming years, with attractive career paths such as Data Analyst, Logistics Innovation Specialist, and Supply Chain Manager. This was a reminder for students to start preparing—not only by mastering their technical knowledge but also by sharpening soft skills like creative thinking, time management, and cross-cultural communication.
Business Administration: Expert Insights – Learning to Become Global Citizens
For Business Administration students, Ms. Linh Dan’s session offered a comprehensive overview of the labor market. She shared data showing that Vietnam currently has over 900,000 active businesses, with a rapidly increasing demand for high-quality management professionals.

She also outlined the hiring trends toward 2030, where roles such as Business Development Manager, Product Manager, Sustainability Manager, and ESG Specialist are set to become the industry’s “hot keywords.” Alongside business knowledge, students were encouraged to strengthen their data analysis, project management, and bilingual communication skills, while cultivating a global mindset and a strong sense of social responsibility.

A quote that resonated deeply with the audience—and became the most shared message from the session—was: “Skills get you hired, but mindset makes you successful.” Skills may get you the job, but it’s your mindset and attitude that determine long-term success.
