Over the past week, students from the Logistics and Supply Chain Management program at the NTT Institute of International Education (NIIE) officially entered their graduation thesis defence—a pivotal milestone marking the conclusion of their undergraduate journey. With a spirit of learning, seriousness, and a desire to transform knowledge into real-world solutions, the students delivered in-depth theses, most of which addressed ongoing issues within today’s logistics industry.

Academic Panel – Dedicated Mentors and Guiding Lights
The defence was led by a panel of academic experts, including:
- Dr. Nguyen Tuan Anh – Vice President of Nguyen Tat Thanh University, Director of NIIE;
- Dr. Ngo To Giao – Head of the Logistics and Supply Chain Management Program at NIIE;
- Mrs. Tran Hoang Cam Tu, MSc – Acting Head of the Department of Logistics and Supply Chain Management.
The panel attentively followed each student’s presentation, asked sharp, thought-provoking questions, and offered practical suggestions to help improve the application aspects of the research topics.
Diverse Topics with Strong Real-World Applications
This year’s theses showcased a wide range of perspectives and problem-solving approaches. Many directly addressed practical and current issues within logistics and supply chain management—from warehouse operations, demand forecasting, and risk management to investment efficiency analysis and strategies for sustainable development.

Notably, some groups explored contemporary and socially relevant topics such as energy transition in logistics, the use of electric container trucks, and greenhouse gas emission reduction. These choices reflect students’ awareness of global trends and a growing sense of social responsibility—both increasingly vital in the modern logistics landscape.

In addition, several theses were grounded in real business solutions, including optimising logistics costs, building efficient inventory models, and enhancing supply chain performance. These works highlighted students’ proactive efforts to bridge academic knowledge with business reality.
Academic Spirit and Bilingual Confidence
A standout highlight of the defence sessions was the students’ ability to present fluently and confidently in both English and Vietnamese. They conveyed not only academic content effectively but also demonstrated strong communication skills and a professional demeanour—qualities essential for thriving in international work environments.

While some areas still had room for improvement, the students’ progressive mindset and serious approach were clearly evident. Their willingness to tackle complex and challenging topics serves as a testament to their ambition, curiosity, and readiness to delve deeper into the rapidly evolving world of logistics.
A Journey Filled with Growth and Lessons
The thesis defence marked more than the conclusion of 3.5 years of study—it was a moment for students to reflect on their transformation from mastering theoretical knowledge to applying it through practical experience and engaging with macro-level issues in supply chain operations.

Armed with solid expertise, effective presentation skills, and a problem-solving mindset, NIIE’s Logistics students are well-equipped to move forward with confidence. The path ahead will require not only knowledge but also adaptability, creativity, and continuous innovation—qualities essential in a field that never stands still.
