As part of the “Event Management” practical module, students from the K21 cohort at NIIE took charge of organizing an A-to-Z team-building trip to Black Virgin Mountain, Tay Ninh province.
With a focus on enhancing students’ real-life experiences and practical application while still in school, this combined excursion and experience in Tay Ninh offered NIIE students the chance to hone their soft skills and specialised competencies, such as event management, tourism organisation, time management, financial management, teamwork, and more. Through this journey, students practised their classroom-learned skills and enriched their personal “life experience.”
During this trip to Black Virgin Mountain, the K21 students were entirely “self-sufficient,” proactively planning, organising the trip, and creating team-building activities. This demonstrated the students’ competence and experience, proving that NIIE students are academically excellent and skilled in event organisation.
At Black Virgin Mountain, the NIIE-ers experienced a cable car ride, completed a treasure hunt challenge set by the organising committee to explore secret spots, checked in at scenic locations on the mountaintop, and visited temples within the mountain grounds. The students, passionate about discovery and eager to learn, did not hesitate to climb and explore the spiritual and historical aspects of the area upon arriving in Tay Ninh province.
By the end of the trip, each student had gained valuable experiences, applying “school skills” to real-world situations to refine their expertise further. The excursion was also an opportunity for NIIE-ers to bond with one another, live life to the fullest, and create lasting memories of their dynamic and vibrant student years.
